01 / PRODUCT DESIGN & CAD

Mechanical design for what comes next.

Develop the mechanical definition of a part, assembly, or early product concept. Start with a sketch, an existing part, or a specific fit or function problem.

Based in Windsor, Ontario. Working with project teams locally and worldwide.

CAPABILITIES

Focused support for the details that matter.

Mechanical design support can begin with a rough layout or an existing component. Work focuses on the geometry, interfaces, movement, fit, and documentation needed for your next design or prototype decision.

01

3D CAD & mechanical design

Build or refine part and assembly geometry from a concept, sample, or existing design. Resolve layout, interfaces, clearances, and motion around the available requirements and intended prototype use.

02

Enclosures, mechanisms & assemblies

Develop housings, mounts, linkages, and grouped components. Consider how parts locate and attach, how moving features interact, and how the assembly can be accessed or taken apart.

03

Reverse engineering & design refinement

Recreate useful geometry from measurements, photographs, or a physical sample, then adjust the design for fit, function, or a proposed fabrication process. Measurement limits and assumptions are recorded where they affect the model.

04

Technical drawings & manufacturing files

Prepare agreed drawings and digital files with dimensions and notes that help communicate the design for review, prototype fabrication, or supplier discussion. Required formats and drawing detail are set during scoping.

A GOOD FIT WHEN

  • You have an idea or layout that needs to become a practical 3D model.
  • Parts do not fit, move, assemble, or service as intended.
  • An existing part needs to be recreated, adapted, or prepared for a prototype build.

HELPFUL TO SHARE

  • Photos, sketches, sample parts, or existing CAD files.
  • Key dimensions, interfaces, clearances, and how the part will be used.
  • Preferred file formats and the next step the design needs to support.

A PRACTICAL APPROACH

Make progress one clear step at a time.

Start with the goal and the information you have. We’ll agree on the right scope before work begins.

01

Understand the need

Clarify what the part must do, what it connects to, and the size, movement, or environment it needs to accommodate.

02

Develop the geometry

Create or refine 3D parts and assemblies, checking interfaces and practical details as the design takes shape.

03

Prepare the handoff

Provide the agreed CAD, drawings, and supporting files for review, prototyping, or a manufacturing discussion.

POSSIBLE PROJECT OUTPUTS

Useful handoffs for the next stage.

Deliverables are selected and defined for each project. Depending on the agreed scope, they may include:

The level of detail and file formats are agreed for each project. Manufacturing requirements depend on the selected process and supplier.
